THE SHORT ANSWER
Say that you would like to discuss your pay, then ask when the other person is available. Keep arranging the discussion separate from requesting a particular outcome: agreement to a meeting is not agreement to a pay rise.
Use the pay word with a clear purpose
人工 (jan4 gung1) can mean salary or wages; 加人工 refers to a pay increase. In this conversation, 人工 names the subject you want to discuss. The surrounding sentence makes clear whether you are requesting a meeting, describing your pay or asking for an increase.
“I would like to discuss my pay with you” gives the listener the meeting topic before they answer about availability. It avoids requiring them to infer a salary discussion from a vague request to talk. Use the name or form of address appropriate to your actual relationship rather than inventing a special title from this lesson.

Compare a meeting request with the recorded salary statements
The clip 我要加人工 directly states the desire or need for a pay rise. It is useful to recognise, but it has a different purpose from arranging time to discuss pay. Whether that direct statement fits a real conversation depends on the surrounding discussion and relationship.
The clips about working in proportion to pay and doing something only for the salary express attitudes toward work and compensation. They do not specify an appointment or explain the subject you want reviewed. Treat them as contextual expressions rather than ready-made opening lines for every workplace conversation.

A direct statement about a pay rise, not an appointment request.

An attitude about motivation, not a meeting arrangement.
Ask when and respond to the proposed time
得閒 (dak1 haan4) refers to having free time. Asking when someone is available opens the scheduling part of the exchange. It does not tell you how long the discussion will take or whether they are the person who can answer every pay question.
This written dialogue ends with a proposed discussion the next day. The final question narrows that proposal to a time. In a real arrangement, also confirm the place or call format if that is unclear. Those practical details are useful language goals even before you practise the later discussion.

Would three tomorrow work?
Close with the meeting details, not an assumed outcome
If the answer is “tomorrow at three,” you have an agreed time only once both people accept it. You still have a pay conversation to hold. Practise summarising the appointment and its topic in English, then in the Cantonese you know, without adding a promise the other person did not make.
If the person asks to speak later or directs you to someone else, respond to that information before repeating the same request. The immediate communication task is to establish who will discuss the topic and when. Keeping that goal clear prevents a scheduling reply from being misread as approval or rejection of the eventual pay request.

YOUR TURN
Try it yourself
A manager answers your request with “Let’s talk tomorrow.” Have they agreed to a pay rise? What information would you establish next?
See one possible answer
They have proposed a discussion, not a pay change. Ask for a time, for example 聽日三點得唔得? Confirm the accepted time and how or where you will meet. The pay outcome remains for the later conversation.
Keep these in mind
- 人工 supplies the pay topic; the sentence states your purpose.
- A request to talk and a request for a pay rise are distinct moves.
- Confirm the appointment without assuming its outcome.
