Canto School is a product published and operated by Segis Junior AB. By using Canto School, you agree to these terms with Segis Junior AB. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
iPhone license
Canto School for iOS is licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. The complete linked agreement supplies the iOS license terms. This page does not replace it with a shortened or custom EULA.
Free access and Full Course
Access depends on your installed version and existing access. In the current iPhone version, each selected starting level grants its fixed first lesson, up to five distinct entry lessons. Repeating a choice or resetting progress does not unlock neighbouring lessons. Earlier grants stay replayable, and existing learners with the earlier free Stage 1 offer retain it. The optional placement check is free. Free access has no trial countdown and does not start a subscription.
Build is free, including available exact word, phrase-part and sentence recordings. Vocabulary can be browsed without subscribing; standalone playback includes Hello, Good morning and Bye as three free greetings. Full Course includes all stages, full Vocabulary access, flashcard study and personal decks, Review and optional Theory. Lesson prerequisites still apply.
Audio is available only where an exact recording exists for the displayed Cantonese and Jyutping. Missing or withheld recordings remain unavailable. Free or paid access does not generate audio for arbitrary custom cards or guarantee a recording for every Build combination.
Purchases and subscriptions
Full Course is an optional monthly subscription purchased through Apple on iPhone or Google Play on Android. The store shows the applicable price, billing period and renewal terms before you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the store where you subscribed, subject to that store's displayed terms. Payment processing and refunds follow the relevant store's rules and your applicable consumer rights.
Manage or cancel through Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the app or resetting course progress does not cancel a subscription. Course access depends on the store confirming an eligible purchase and may require an internet connection. Restoring a purchase restores access in the same store, not learning progress or ownership in the other store. Eligible earlier Apple purchases remain subject to their original access terms.
Where complimentary access is offered, it is separate from a store subscription and creates no payment or automatic renewal. It does not cancel or refund an existing subscription. Any conditions provided with the offer apply.
Educational purpose
Canto School provides general language-learning material. Translations, pronunciation guidance, health phrases, safety phrases, and other course content are not professional, medical, legal, emergency, or translation advice. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service and seek help from a qualified person.
The optional placement check suggests a starting point, without certifying proficiency. Supported speaking recognition checks words, not pronunciation or tones. Flashcard ratings schedule practice and do not complete course lessons or award assessment results.
Your use of the app
You may use Canto School for personal, non-commercial learning. You must not copy, redistribute, resell, reverse engineer, or misuse the app or its content except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Availability and changes
Segis Junior AB may correct, improve, add, or remove features and course content. We aim to keep Canto School useful and accurate but do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
Intellectual property
Canto School and its original interface, curriculum structure, text, illustrations, and materials are owned by or licensed to Segis Junior AB and are protected by applicable laws. Some audio and reference material is used under third-party terms; those rights remain with their respective owners.
Disclaimer and limitation
To the extent permitted by law, Segis Junior AB provides Canto School “as is” and “as available.” Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
